Sam Hart Music - Main Editor/Editing Assistant
In this role, I have been trusted with anything from editing an entire session of instruments, drums, vocals, etc. to editing, tuning, and pocketing lead vocals. I have been blessed to work on some vocals for big Christian music industry names such as Aaron Shust, NewSong, Russ Lee, and many others. I have also learned my way around Logic Pro for this role and use Logic as my main DAW for editing.

September and November 2023
Dark Horse – Mid Term and Final Projects
For our class mid-term and final, we were faced with recording, mixing, and mastering a band with multiple songs. We recorded Alex Slay for our mid-term, and the Masterson’s for our final. For the tracking days, each of us was tasked with mic setup, gain staging, running the console, running Pro Tools, and communicating with the artists. After we finished the tracking sessions, we had to each pick a song to edit, mix, and master in Pro Tools.

Dark Horse Institute – Audio Engineering Program
During my time at Dark Horse, I learned everything there was to learn about audio engineering, from start to finish. In addition to that, everything we did as a class and individually was hands on. There was never a dull moment during this course. This program gave me the confidence I needed to enter the music industry with knowledge I know will instill success in my career.

Casper College – Audio Department Work Study
While working under my mentor, Larry Burger, I was taught how to run recording sessions effectively and efficiently. This included mic setup and pre-amping, communicating with clients, setting up the DAW, editing, and mixing. After a brief time of observing, I was trusted with running sessions for classes at the college in the studio as well as mixing live sound for college events and concerts. During this time, I began to develop my sound and personality as an engineer. I owe much of what I've learned today in 2026 to one of the best teachers, friends, and mentors I have ever had, Larry Burger.
